Benny's approximate birth date is October 6, 2014. He has been neutered, vaccinated to include a rabies vaccination and he has a registered microchip. Benny has tested positive for FIV, so he will need to be an only cat in the home. He should also not be in a home with children. Benny's time interacting with people is limited in his foster home, as there are rarely cat-less foster homes available. Benny has a pretty good set up in his room, but it is no life for a social guy like Benny and he is becoming frustrated with his confinement. Please consider opening up your home to Benny, or sharing his story with people that you know. He would really like the chance to be a loved member of a family. FIV is not a death sentence for cats. FIV positive cats can live a long healthy life. This disease cannot be transferred to people or animals other than cats. FIV is only transferred to other cats by deep puncture wounds caused by a FIV positive cat. FIV cats do require to be indoor only cats, to reduce the the risk of infection to cats who are let outdoors. They should also be the only cat in the home.
